Wristbands like Coldplay: how much they cost and how to get the effect without them

At large concerts audiences often receive glowing wristbands, like on Coldplay tours. This creates a beautiful effect across the whole hall. But behind it there is serious logistics and money.

How much wristbands like Coldplay cost

Coldplay spends around 400,000 euros on wristbands for just one concert. In Russia they are sold and rented in batches starting from 100 pieces (companies like laserok.ru, brasletpromo.ru).

They need to be distributed at entry, then collected after the show, charged or disposed of. This takes time, people and money.

How to get the same effect without wristbands

Every viewer already has a phone with a flashlight. A QR code on the screen is enough, and the hall turns into a single light field, just like with wristbands.

No purchase, distribution or collection. Viewers raise their own phones, the host or artist controls the light. After the show promo or a draw opens in the browser.

The effect is synchronized, works to the music, without an app and without internet.

When wristbands and when flashlights

  • Need exact colour on the wrist and large budget: wristbands
  • Want the same hall-light without logistics and for less money: flashlights
  • Need post-event contact with viewers (promo, data): only flashlights
  • Concert indoors or with limited preparation time: flashlights

Formats are compatible: wristbands can be the main effect, and our show an addition or after.

Prices for wristbands in Russia

Rental per piece in a batch starts from several hundred rubles. For a concert of 5–10 thousand you need several thousand wristbands: the total cost of rental, delivery, staff for distribution and collection, losses and disposal grows quickly. Plus storage, charging, logistics between venues.

What happens after the show

Wristbands have no post-contact: the viewer leaves with a wristband, the brand or organizer gets nothing. With phones, promo and a draw open in the browser after the show. More in the post-show promo article.

Format compatibility

At a concert you can start with wristbands as the main visual, and add our show in the finale: the hall forms a collective picture from flashlights once the wristbands have done their part. Preparation does not conflict, the mechanics complement each other.
